STUDENT BIOGRAPHY

Andrew Aumiller is currently in his fifth year of pursuing an Integrated Bachelor and Master of Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in structures at The Pennsylvania State University.  He will also receive a minor in Architectural Studies.  Andrew plans to take the FE Exam at the end of the fall 2015 semester so he will be eligible for EIT status when he graduates in May 2016.

During his summers away from school Andrew has participated in a variety of internships as well as having the opportunity to study abroad.  In the summer of 2013 Andrew had the opportunity to work with the Penn State Facility Engineering Institute primarily working on 3D modeling of existing buildings.  The summer of 2014 was a busy one for Andrew.  It started with a seven week trip to the Pantheon Institute in Rome, Italy where he studied the classical architecture of the city with many other architectural engineering students.  For the second half of the summer Andrew Interned with Barton Malow Company, here he was able to participate in multiple phases of the construction process. During the summer of 2015 Andrew was able to work with Severud Associates in New York City as their structural engineering intern.  At Severud Associates he was able to work on the design side of the industry, working on projects varying in size from stair renovations to 30 story high-rise towers.  It is thanks to Severud Associates that Andrew was able to obtain his building for senior thesis.

Andrew is also involved in many extracurricular activities at Penn State including being a member of the Men's Club Lacrosse Team, the Student Society of Architectural Engineering, and the Structural Engineering Association.  With the Men's Club Lacrosse team Andrew has won two national championships as well as participating heavily in the clubs THON activities as the teams current Family Relations Chair. Andrew also held a position on the Student Society of Architectural Engineers executive board during his fourth year.  When he is not doing school work or playing lacrosse Andrew enjoys hiking, camping, hunting, and dying and stringing lacrosse heads for teammates and people all over the country.
